The Rape of the Snob

So I was ‘radaring’ for ‘bloggable’ material last night when a Ghanaian movie ‘brought itself’. It was raw, reeking rubbish. A village snob of a woman was taught a lesson by a young lecherous lout through the imperious instrument of rape.

He went unpunished and was even glorified by the girls, while she suffered a drop in social slot. What warped wanton wicked moral was that? Must she be shamed that way because she's a snob?
Rubbish rubbish movie.

  1. I apologise for this comment. But its Ghana for you. Still backward and forever backward in some ways even with the discovery of oil. Quite sad i think, of all the programmes/documentaries and movies they could produce this is what they hand-picked to air on television.

  3. Next when you meet 'raw' Ghana movie coming on the left you would take the right. You are lucky to have escape this attack without a heartache. lol... Some of the movies are not well thought out. They are not written let alone edited. People (or say actors/actresses) are gathered and told this is what we want to do and they all play their part. I believe the industry should be regulated, not necessarily censored by a government body. They should put themselves together and check each other. Yet, the likes of Shirley Frimpong Manso, Leila Djansi and others are making provide us with a ray of hope.

  4. @Anonymous... even with your apologies I don't agree. You cannot use this instant to say 'still backward and forever backward'. Please I beg you. Let's not go there. Stupid things happen everywhere... we have movies where men and women are having sex with animals and women in the so-called 'progressive' countries. The movie is just bad and the directors and writers poorly trained, if they have been trained at all. But to use that to say.. 'this is Ghana for you' is highly improper, and ignorant. There are better programs/movies out there too. Let's not use this as a generalisation. Please and a very big please. I wish you would come again on this. It's too ignorant on your part.

  5. The stupid idea that women "deserve it" is not just restricted to Africa. The difference is that if this was shown in the USA or Europe, angry women (and men) would be protesting outside the places it was shown or TV station, and pointing out the false message of the film. In Ghana.....thanks to Nana Yaw for making noise.
