Gari Fortor

Crisp, chewy, pan-roasted manioc granules softened and textured with a little oil. ‘Savouried’ with a dash of all your favourite spices. Balance-dieted with vegetables and fish or lamb or chicken. ‘Varietied’ up with kibbled Kelewele. Set down beside a cool, tall drink. Please, please, stop! I’m already dreaming of lunch at 6 a.m.

  2. Clearly it was not a good idea for me to miss lunch today. Productivity was high but all references to food such as this one have got me salivating! Okay, I'm outta here...

  3. 3 weeks ago, I would have thought to myself what the heck the big deal about gari fortor was......until I went up to NY and my adopted family showed me there is more to it than just gari and oil (thats all I knew before). I have since etched the recipie with those 2 "kick it up a notch" secret ingredients in my brain and I look for any oppotrunity to make it- so people can tell me how delicious it tastes or how good of a cook. Selfish reasons, I know.

  13. @ Lol, just seen this post...okay this is my Gari Fortor story. Hanging out at La beach last sunday with Nana Kofi. I feel hungry and crave Gari Fortor - specifically from the African restaurant at La Palm. The last time I ate Gari Fortor there it was sooo delicious. So we head there...and the Gari Fortor is no longer good...the chef has changed

  14. I agree with you, Nana. I noticed that the quality of the fare in many places changes with the chef.
