The Music Videos in the City of Accra

The music videos in the City of Accra are faithful to life; no flimflam that there are no plump and lusty women in our city, or in the world. These ample damsels romp, roister, dance, model, flirt, swing and do whatever else it is they do just like the slim sistas.

In other worlds, it is all right for male artistes to be pretty portly, but even they permit only slender video vixens. Whoever knows any real women knows that the quality of womanhood does not come with size.

Jumbo size; bouncing here; flouncing there; rolling along; taking heavy, sure steps; each dance move delivered deliberately, displaying a dash of delicious damsel delight. There’s no damage done to the video. So, why leave them out?

  1. I totally agree with you. Allthough I've seen a few american ones with some more fuller sized women. I also think they should feature more darker skinned women and not only the caramel ones, no? Generally speaking of course, I wouldn't know about Ghanaian ones.
That being said, I am not very supportive of the whole video vixen thing anyways. But just like people aren't going to abstain from sex I don't think the video thing will stop anytime soon so better to make them with more real women of all shades and shapes.
I much more prefer music videos with some actual meaning/storyline or originality. If not, Gimme some equality and put a bunch of half naked men in the videos too!D'Angelo's "How does it feel" from 2000 is one of the few videos I know who managed to do that. Although it was pretty self-praising and cocky. If you know it you should watch the parody with Jamie Foxx on Youtube, lol.

  2. I agree with you, Adaeze, about the metal pointlessness about many music videos. I was limiting my scope to just the preference for small-sized women over bigger women. I also agree with you about darker skinned women and, if we cannot eliminate the objectification of women, then throw in some men too! :)

  3. Ghanaians are keeping it real.
We love our Mochachas well-baked not some flattened, rolled-up and dried-up anorexic.
Having said that, I have no desire whatsoever wasting my precious time watching an over-fattened jumbo variant either.
I would rather go and watch the grass grow!
