A Lovely, Educated Public

I was lounging at the curiously-christened 'Luscious Temptations', at East Legon, last Saturday, with fellow bloggers Kobby Graham, Nii Ayertey and Edward Tagoe, discussing the extinct education in ‘gambling’ Ghana. Then, today, I stumble across a news item that Nana Akufo-Addo (a presidential candidate) promises a “lovely, educated public” within a decade, if he wins Elections 2012. Sadly, the news report (shameful for a digital medium like myjoyonline) skips his ‘blowhard’ building blocks for achieving such lettered loveliness.

  1. Did he show how this would be done. For me, I am tired of 'I'd do this and that'. These are easy to say. The 'How' is the most important.

Lovely, educated....what's the meaning of it? Did he actually say that?

  3. Within a decade? Sounds highly optimistic! I too would like to know what 'lovely' means.

I am surprised they could report on this without further details of how these goals would be reached. That is the interesting part.

  4. Was actually wondering about "lovely" myself. Speaking of The Media, I've only just come to realise how central and instrumental they are in perpetuating the incessantly polarizing game of politricks being conducted in Ghana today....Bad/lazy journalism just makes matters worse...
