Overbearing Upbringing

The way to train a child
Is not to create your clone
Let them grow their passions wild
It's their life! You have lived your own!

  1. Wow, this is a good one! I couldn't agree with you more. I love my mother for letting me be my own person and not trying to live her dreams through me. My father too of course.

  2. Thanks for agreeing, Adaeze. And forgive me if I do not always comment on your posts. Sometimes, I just want to read and relish them. Sometimes, I am stressed and cannot think straight. Sometimes, they are long (not criticising) and I must make time to come back and read them before I can sincerely comment.

  5. Sometyms old people think they are always right. Well, but you can choose to understand but not to agree with them...it's a matter of choice as I always say. Young people(especially teens)also want independent which is cool if only they don't misuse it. For me I will allow you and fold ma arms and watch you make it on your own but will help if you need ma help though. Our parents should allow us to do it our own way that does not mean we don't need their help. We want to learn from our own mistakes

  9. I totally agree that one does not need to be a parent him/herself to grasp what is required to raise up children.
The secret is being a guiding and loving influence as opposed to dictating the destination and the road to for them.
I suppose you are so ripe for fatherhood.
    Hehehe!
