Handwashing

There's something character-forming
In washing clothes by hand
I do this every morning
Or evening, on demand.

Alternative Rhyme...

There's something character-forming
In washing clothes by hand
Upon this understanding
Does one of my principles stand.

  1. This one left me with a smile. I don't normally wash my clothes by hand but I always do when in Africa and that always leaves me time for some soul searching and thinking.

  4. Hi Nana Yaw, are you sure you have time to do handwashing every morning or evening on demand? I'm impressed!

  12. Naa, if I've played too hard on Saturday and Sunday, then the time to do the laundry is Monday morning and onwards, no?

Wow, I cannot for the life of me imagine someone do laundry EVERY.SINGLE.MORNING!

I do laundry every other week.... and sometimes I'm even too lazy to do that, and when that happens, doing laundry becomes an all day affair. Because washing, drying and folding 5-7 loads of laundry is no joke. Aaaaaaand its not even by hand!

    KUDOS TO YOU!

Okay, maybe I'm overanalyzing everything I read, BUT... Nana Yaw, what are you implying when you say

"if I've played too hard on Saturday and Sunday,"

The bedsheets part threw me off. WINK

  15. @ Anon, the person who does it every morning, does not wash them by the loads...just in bits.

  16. @ Anon: I imply nothing in the statement about playing too hard. It just means there is not time left (after playing hard) for doing the laundry on Sat or Sun, so you choose to do it on Mon, Tue or Wed. Etc.

  17. i'm not sure i match that! not everyday! not even a pair of socks!

but i also don't like to pile them anyway! i'm in between there somewhere you know!

now, there must be something character forming about this really!

this is discipline with a breath!
