A Time to Heal

Tell me, should a battered, broken heart
Not hide away till time heals the pain?
Or should it stay wide open and apart
And try to trust and love again?

  1. Interesting one Nana Yaw, personally, I'm definitely for the time to heal option. Staying wide open may make the battered heart susceptible to additional heartaches! But then again, "time to heal" could actually become a permanent state of affair with a serious aversion towards future heart-break...

  2. And there, Abena, is the conflict that made me write this rhyme.

  9. interesting!
when one goes, or when you let one go, just allow the next person to help do the healing time! lol!

or whatever you choose, just don't kill yourself over milk that has been spilled!

the thought of the two conflicting situations alone should be a healing pill.

  14. I think it is necessary to hibernate for a while in order to be mentally fit for whoever next life has in store for you..but don't give out like savvy said.

  16. not easy Nana.

but something else must make a man/woman tick again or never again!

and here the conflict of the two scenarios comes handy i guess!

  17. Novisi, what must make a person tick again?

  18. off beat! (quite personal)

    i'm sitting here
with tears welling up in my eyes!
and i can't hold them back!

    the emotion is strong
    it's consuming me!

    is she calling it quits?

    is it all about guilt?

yet something must make me tick again

    something, Nana, something!

(there's some consolation in these lines of yours that have me reading and i'd keep reading till i find that healing!)
