What if your Partner...

If you discovered that your devoted “Darby” or “Joan” of three years had been dribbling deliberately into your dinner or drink every time they were disconcerted by you, what would you do?

  1. tell them the story of the time when i spat into an uncle's drinking water and watched him drink it...and have a laugh. Since it's my partner and i kiss them, it's no biggie.

  2. I'd leave them, that's just too spiteful for my liking.

Once did that to a very wicked senior in school...of course i was caught but got off scot-free. No problem if the person is my wife. Why? See Esi's comment.

  4. eeeew. not acceptable on any grounds.
It starts mild. Next thing you know, partner graduates to pellets of rat poison in your palm wine.
(Have you guys seen the movie "Waiting"? G-R-O-S-S)

  7. @ Esi W. Cleland: I told my office mates the same, and they thought I was mad.

@ Missmays: Would you leave them regardless of whatever the surrounding circumstances?

@ Kwame Mensa-Bonsu: Another person on this side ;-)

@ Mike: Amazing. A work mate said the same! I think it is unlikely that even the 'spitter' would turn to poison of any kind.

@ Myne Whitman: But, it happens. In fact, worse happens, but we do not want to go into that now.

@ Lucci: I think I know what you mean by "spiritual".

  9. missmays AKA msafropolitan - yup, would have to call it quits regardless of circumstance. In my opinion that's the kind of act one might carry out on an enemy not a lover!
