Tell me, should a battered, broken heart Not hide away till time heals the pain? Or should it stay wide open and apart And try to trust and love again?
Interesting one Nana Yaw, personally, I'm definitely for the time to heal option. Staying wide open may make the battered heart susceptible to additional heartaches! But then again, "time to heal" could actually become a permanent state of affair with a serious aversion towards future heart-break...
"Time to heal" heals slowly datz where de pain hurts de more. De broken heart shld shout out de pain 4m de heart n stay wide open to love all over again n not to give up even though some gives up n never love again.
@ Kissi, I can be ma own best friend wen a best friend betrays me, but to be ma own best friend wen am broken hearted(hmmm am really thinking)...can yuh anyway?
lol @ Savvy, gud to sleep small. Novisi dat means yuh r in favour of de double game deal(keeping two birds at de same tym, so if one goes u still ave one bird in stock, aight?)
I think it is necessary to hibernate for a while in order to be mentally fit for whoever next life has in store for you..but don't give out like savvy said.

ReplyDeleteAnd there, Abena, is the conflict that made me write this rhyme.
ReplyDeleteHibernate, but don't give out. Tried and tested.

What does "don't give out" mean, Savvy?
ReplyDeleteArguing both sides are we, Naa?
ReplyDeleteBe your own best friend.
ReplyDeleteYou bet, Kiz!

ReplyDeleteinteresting!
ReplyDeletewhen one goes, or when you let one go, just allow the next person to help do the healing time! lol!
or whatever you choose, just don't kill yourself over milk that has been spilled!
the thought of the two conflicting situations alone should be a healing pill.
Is it really that easy, Novisi? Have you ever been hurt that way?
ReplyDeleteIt means "stop"! Don't stop loving. Sleep for a bit.;-)

ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Savvy

ReplyDeleteHibernation, then, is the name of the game, Adaeze!
ReplyDeletenot easy Nana.
ReplyDeletebut something else must make a man/woman tick again or never again!
and here the conflict of the two scenarios comes handy i guess!
Novisi, what must make a person tick again?
ReplyDeleteoff beat! (quite personal)
ReplyDeletei'm sitting here
with tears welling up in my eyes!
and i can't hold them back!
the emotion is strong
it's consuming me!
is she calling it quits?
is it all about guilt?
yet something must make me tick again
something, Nana, something!
(there's some consolation in these lines of yours that have me reading and i'd keep reading till i find that healing!)
Wow! That's very special, Novisi. I've been through those straits before. Oh how it nearly killed me!
ReplyDeletetrust and love again when you are ready, young sir. :) your writing rocks btw chale!
ReplyDeleteThanks, so much, Dalyni, both for the advice and the compliment.
